Congress on Monday called for a thorough probe into the fourth mysterious death in the National Rural Health Mission, NRHM, scam in Uttar Pradesh. Briefing reporters in New Delhi, party spokesman Abhishek Manu Singhvi said that the suicide by Sunil Verma, the project Manager of the NRHM Scheme is more than a mere coincidence. Mr Singhvi said that the suicide is extremely strange and he alleged that it is part of a bigger conspiracy.

The BJP also charged the BSP government in Uttar Pradesh with shielding the big players in the scam. Party Spokesman Ravi Shankar Prasad said that the small minions are being sacrificed to protect the real culprits behind the scam.
