Congress today called for the approval of final draft of the Lokpal Bill at the earliest.

Lokpal Bill was introduced in Parliament in the Monsoon session and later referred to Parliamentary Standing Committee on Law and Justice.

The Committee headed by Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi has held several rounds of talks with various stake holders including Team Anna to finalise a strong anti-corruption Bill.

Congress sources said that the top party leadership has directed its members in the Committee to okay the draft soon.

It has also urged the members from the Opposition and other parties to approve the draft before the Winter Session of Parliament.
