Congress, BJP bag one seat each in Himachal byelection

In Himachal Pradesh, Congress has won the Nalagarh constituency seat and the BJP bagged the Renuka seat.

In Nalagarh, Congress candidate Lakhwinder Rana defeated his nearest rival and BJP candidate Gurnam Kaur by a margin of 1,598 votes whereas in Renuka Constituency, BJP candidate Hirda Ram defeated the Congress candidate Vinay Kumar by a margin of 3,526 votes.

Earlier the Nalagarh seat was with the BJP and Renuka was known to be a traditionally Congress seat.
