Congress, BJP bag one seat each in Himachal byelection

In the Bye election to two Assembly constituencies in Himachal Pradesh, Congress has won the Nalagarh seat and the BJP bagged the Renuka seat.

In Nalagarh, Congress candidate Lakhwinder Rana defeated his nearest rival and BJP candidate Gurnam Kaur by a margin of 1,598 votes while in Renuka Constituency, BJP candidate Hirda Ram defeated the Congress candidate Vinay Kumar by a margin of 3,526 votes.

The Nalagarh seat was with the BJP and Renuka seat is traditionally a Congress seat.
