Congress bags Speaker and Deputy Speaker posts in Arunachal Pradesh

In Arunachal Pradesh, the ruling Congress party has bagged both the posts of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the 5th State Legislative Assembly. The House which is in sitting unanimously elected Congress nominee Wangling Lowangdong as the Speaker on Wednesday. The members also unanimously elected Tapang Taloh, another Congress MLA for the Deputy Speaker’s post. There were no other nominations from other parties. The 43 years old Lowangdong was elected for the first time from Borduria-Bogapani seat in 2004. He did his graduation from Delhi ‘s St. Stephens College. He has also served in various Assembly Committees besides involving himself in working for the down trodden. Tapang Taloh had graduated from the Punjab University. The 35 year old leader was first elected on a BJP ticket from Pangin assembly constituency and later joined the Congress. He has served in various Assembly Committees and was a member of the FCI Consultative Committee.<br/>
