Congress alliance partner Jharkhand Vikas Morcha- JVM, has announced that it will not participate in the forthcoming Rajya Sabha poll on 3rd May as mark of protest for not putting up a combined opposition candidate. Speaking to media in Ranchi today, JVM President Babulal Marandi said that the JVM had supported the Congress candidate Dheeraj Sahu in 2010.H e said it the turn of Congress to support the JVM candidate this time. But when the Congress did not agree to that, then the JVM had proposed 12 names of prominent a political persons. This he said was also rejected by the Congress.

AIR Correspondent reports that the Congress candidate Pradeep Balmuchu and JMM candidate Sanjeev Kumar have filed their nominations from the state today for the Rajya Sabha polls .
