Congress today alleged that there is a clear nexus between former IPL chief Lalit Modi and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Briefing media in New Delhi, senior party leader Kapil Sibal said Lalit Modi had claimed in an email to Vice-President of Rajathan Royals IPL Team that he was very close to Narendra Modi.<br/><br/>Mr Sibal said documentary evidence suggests Narendra Modi, who was the then Gujarat Chief Minister was involved in manipulating IPL bids with the help of Lalit Modi in 2009. Mr Sibal said this was done to favour Adani Group. The Congress spokesperson said Prime Minister is silent on demand for resignation of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj because of his proximity with Lalit Modi.
