Finance Minister Arun Jaitley today dismissed the charges leveled by Congress against some of the leaders who were inducted in the Union Council of Minsiters yesterday. Talking to reporters in New Delhi, Mr. Jaitely said that allegation against Minister of State Ramshankar Katheria is politically motivated as Samajwadi Party government in Uttar Pradesh has framed false cases against every BJP workers.
On Non- Performing Assets case relating to Union Minister Y S Chaudhary's owned company, Mr Jaitley said that the minister is making regular payment in this case and there is nothing as being said by the Congress. He said Congress should compare UPA poor governance with quality of governance of NDA and it should not resort to baseless allegations.
Earlier, the Congress today charged Prime Minister Narendra Modi of adopting double standard over the issue of clean politics. Briefing reporters in New Delhi, party spokesperson Ajay Maken alleged that there are over 13 Ministers in Modi's cabinet against whom cases are pending in the Courts. He said, at one side, Prime Minister talks about making the parliament free from tainted leaders but yesterday, he inducted a leader in the Council of Ministers who are facing criminal charges. He alleged that over Rs 300 crore Non Performing Assets case is pending against Y S Chaudary's owned company, who got the portfolio of Minister of state. Mr. Maken also questioned shifting of some of ministers from their portfolios.
