Congress activists baton charged in HP while protesting bus fare hike

In Himachal Pradesh more than ten Congress activists were injured and 40 detained in Shimla after police resorted to baton charge to disperse them while they were blockading the Shimla-Chandigarh highway to protest hike in bus fares and corruption. <br/><br/>AIR Shimla correspondent reports that one congress activist is reported to be serious due to head injury. <br/><br/>Earlier, in the afternoon hundreds of Congress activists gathered near the state assembly to participate in a state-level protest rally against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government on the issue of hike in bus fair , price rise and various other issues.
