Congress today accused BJP of spreading misinformation in Ishrat Jahan encounter case to save its top leaders. In a joint press conference party leaders Mallikarjun Kharge, Anand Sharma, Kapil Sibal and Abhishek Singhvi released copy of a four-page statement of a Gujarat police officer which he had given before a Magistrate. <br/><br/>Mr. Sibal claimed that the officer had quoted the then Gujarat IPS officer D G Vanzara as saying ahead of the encounter that he had already got the green signal from the top level.
