The Congress today accepted the verdict of the people in Uttar Pradesh and said it was against its expectation. Party spokesman Rashid Alvi said in New Delhi that his party will find out what went wrong. Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi said he takes responsibility for the poll outcome of the party in Uttar Pradesh. He said it is a very good lesson for him.
BJP President Nitin Gadkari said the UP assembly results were not according to their expectations and they will examine the weaknesses.
Meanwhile Samajwadi Party will hold its parliamentary party meeting tomorrow to decide about its Chief Ministerial candidate. Party spokesman Ram Gopal Yadav said that his party is confident of getting absolute majority in the state. He said, Samajwadi Party will continue to support the UPA government at the centre.
