Congress and Aam Admi party have demanded filing of criminal Case against BJP's general secretary Amit Shah for his hate speech. Briefing reporters in New Delhi today, Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala said the party has also urged the state government and Election Commission to take action against Shah and BJP MLA Suresh Rana in this regard. He said the poll body should also arrest him and bar Amit Shah from campaigning in the elections across the country.
Aam Aadmi Party also demanded crack down on Amit Shah and said the Election Commission should order registration of a criminal case against BJP leader Amit Shah for his provocative speech in Uttar Pradesh. In a statement, the party termed the remarks as a clear violation of the Model Code of Conduct. It alleged that Shah's remarks are his party’s deliberate strategy to vitiate the atmosphere of communal harmony at the time of elections.
Samajwadi Party also demanded to the Election Commission to ban entry of Bharatiya Janata Party leader Amit Shah into the State for his alleged inflammatory speeches and threatening the state government. A party spokesperson has told AIR Allahabad correspondent that the SP`s spokesperson and National General Secretary Ram Gopal Yadav has given a memorandum to the Election Commission seeking FIR against Shah for his alleged violation of model code of conduct.
Congress has attacked BJP leader Amit Shah's hate speech saying this only shows BJP can go to any extent just for winning the elections. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi today, party spokesperson Manish Tewari said, the main opposition party finds time in issuing chargesheet against the UPA Government but could not unveil its policy for governance. He also defending the meeting of Congress President Sonia Gandhi with Shahi Imam of Delhi's Jama Masjid, He said there is nothing wrong in meeting with members of a community and it is the responsibility of each political party to reach out to them.
Reacting to Shahi Imam's episode, BJP vice president and spokesperson Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi accused Congress of playing communal card.
