Congress, AAP demand action against Narendra Modi for appealing to voters during polling

Congress has urged the Election Commission to take immediate action against BJP leader Narendra Modi for disseminating and circulating his video message on social media during the last phase of polling. Narendra Modi in a video message appealed to the voters of Varanasi to reflect through their votes the spirit of unity and harmony.

The Congress party has criticized Narendra Modi for intentionally violating model code of conduct. Addressing media in New Delhi today party spokesperson Shakeel Ahmed said it reflects the depression in cadres of BJP including Modi. Ahmed said, his party will not participate in any media discussion on exit poll or opinion poll as the polls were proved wrong in 2004 and 2009 elections.

Ahmed said Congress will decide on allies after declaration of election results. The Congress Spokesperson also said that BJP is gripped with fear and is trying to pressurize the Biju Janta Dal (BJD) by demanding a probe into the alleged role of Naveen Patnaik in Saradha chit fund scam.

Meanwhile Aam Aadmi Party, AAP, has demanded strong action against the TV Channels for broadcasting BJP leader Narendra Modi's speeches today when polling for the last phase was underway. The party said, it is the gross violation of the Model Code of Conduct as Modi is a contestant in Varanasi and broadcasting his political speeches amounts to influencing the voters.
