Union Minister for Urban Development M Venkaiah Naidu today slammed the Congress for holding a 'Save Democracy' rally outside the Parliament.

Speaking to reporters in Mumbai this afternoon, Mr. Naidu said the opposition party is resorting to such tactics only to divert public attention from the Augusta Westland chopper case.

Mr. Naidu claimed that Congress had dismissed almost 100 state governments during their regime. He said a party that had imposed emergency on the country in 1975 and misused state machinery has no moral right to hold such a rally. The minister said levelling allegations against Prime Minister Narendra Modi is nothing but a move by the Opposition to "defame" him.
