Congress today said that the negative politics practised by BJP had an adverse impact on the investment and growth climate in the country last year.

Briefing reporters in New Delhi on Monday, party spokesman Manish Tewari urged the BJP not to oppose important legislations including the Lokpal Bill for the mere sake of opposing.

He said that reason and sanity should prevail in the political discourse.

Mr Tewari also accussed the BJP of double speak and said that their action does not reflect their intentions.

Replying to a question, Mr Tewari charged the BJP with deliberartely preventing the passage of the Lokpal Bill in the Rajya Sabha.
