The Congress party on Monday took strong exception to the remarks aired by a TV Channel owned by party leader Jaganmohan Reddy in Andhra Pradesh. Speaking to reporters in New Delhi, Senior party leader, Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad said that the state leaders should take up issues about the central high command after due care and caution.Law Minister M Veerappa Moily also termed the telecast of the programme as a serious issue. Speaking to reporters in New Delhi, Mr Moily however, refused to answer whether disciplinary action was in the offing against Jagan.The Telugu Channel had attacked Congress President Mrs Sonia Gandhi as well as Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, in a programme aired on the week-end.Congress party sources say that the party High Command has taken a serious note of the programme and a decision on the fate of the Channel owner, who is also Congress MP, would be taken after the state leadership gives its report on the issue.Meanwhile, the congress party functionaries have been holding demonstrations across the state in protest against alleged depiction of party president Sonia Gandhi in poor light in a programme telecast on Saturday.Alleging that the programme was deliberately telecast by the channel to belittle the image of Gandhi, congress workers have been holding sit -in dharnas since Sunday.Demanding action against the television channel management, the party cadre have also held dharnas in front of the offices of the television channel in Hyderabad and elsewhere in the state.Meanwhile, Chief Minister Rosaiah and several ministers have strongly condemned the telecast of the programme. Condemning the programme, several party senior leaders urged the high command to take action against Jagan mohan reddy in this regard.PCC president D. Srinivas has also sent report on Sunday about the situation that erupted following the telecast of the programme. Chief Minister Rosaiah is reaching Delhi Tuesday to discuss Hyderabad ‘Free Zone’ issue. The issue is likely to figure during his meeting with party senior leaders in Delhi.
