A delegation of the Congress party submitted a list of tainted officials in Uttar Pradesh to the Election Commission on Monday.Congress spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi said that the delegation has submitted a list of about 15 officials, including four officials of the secretary of state level, for acting at the behest of the ruling Bahujan Samaj Party in the state.Mr.Singhvi said that in two areas, wives of district education officers who are incharge of voting procedures in the state, are contesting which is in complete violation of the election Commission guidelines.Mr. Singhvi said that the delegation pointed out to the Commission individual cases of complete subordination of the law and order machinery to the BSP in the state.Briefing mediapersons after an hour long meeting with the Election Commission in the capital on Monday, Mr. Singhvi said that the delegation also discussed with the Election Commission the notice given to Law Minister Salman Khursheed on his sub-quota for minority reservation remarks while campaigning for his wife in Uttar Pradesh.A pointed summary of the issue was given but a detailed hearing will happen later, said Mr. Singhvi.The Congress spokesperson said that the Election Commissioner listened to all the grave violations pointed out by the delegation in case of UP elections and promised strict action.The Congress delegation, which was led by Mr. Singhvi, included Parvez Hashmi, Digvijay Singh and Promod Tiwari besides others.
