Cong seeks disqualification of 16 MPs in Andhra

In Andhra Pradesh, the State Legislative Assembly Speaker Manohar has been considering legal opinion over the disqualification of 16 Congress MLAs who voted against party whip during voting on the No Confidence Motion. According to officials, the notifications are likely to be issued to the 16 MLAs seeking their explanations on the issue.The Congress Legislative Party has submitted a petition to the Speaker on Monday seeking disqualification of 16 MLAs, who voted against the Government and supported No Confidence Motion in the Assembly recently.The Government Whip Murali Mohan said these 16 MLAs had been involving in anti-party activities and gone to the extent of trying to oust the State Government during the voting on No Confidence motion. He said they did not listen to the repeated requests made by the party leaders to come back to the party fold from the YSR Congress party.
