Cong rejects reports that former PM Rajiv Gandhi possibly acted as middleman for Swedish co in '70's

Congress has rejected the media report that former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi possibly acted as a middle man for the Swedish company Saab-Scania when it was trying to sell its Viggen fighter aircraft to India in the 1970s. An English daily yesterday published a story on Wikileak expose of US diplomatic cables regarding this. Talking to reporters in New Delhi Party spokesperson Janardan Dwidei termed the report baseless and said there are no grounds for the Wikileaks story.

Mr.Dwivedi asked whether references to Mr.George Fernandes given in the same paper could be given credence.
BJP spokesperson Prakash Javdekar demanded that all documents related to the deal be made public.
