The Congress today rejected the opposition allegations that the CBI raids at the residences of former communication and IT Minister A. Raja in connection with the 2G spectrum scam are just an eye wash. The party spokesman Manish Tewari told reporters outside Parliament today that Congress has always held that law should take its own course and the Supreme Court is also monitoring the investigations into the alleged scam. He said that the Public Accounts Committee chaired by the BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi is already looking into the matter and accused the BJP of politicizing the issue. The BJP leader Mr. Venkaiah Naidu said that the CBI raids have come too late. The CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury said that the CBI raids reinforces the need for a JPC to probe the irregularities into the 2G spectrum allocation. Welcoming the raids in connection with 2G spectrum scam the AIADMK leader Dr. V. Maitreyan said that action should be taken against A. Raja and he should be arrested.
