Cong parleys on to form HP govt;Guj govt to take oath on 26th

In Himachal Pradesh, after getting an absolute majority in the Assembly election, the Congress is now making preparations to form the new government.

According to the Congress State President Virbhadra Singh, the newly elected Congress leaders meeting will be held in Shimla soon.

The Congress High Command has appointed the Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde as the Central Observer for the state. Although, there are some other leaders in the race for Chief Minister post, but most of the elected members are supporters of Virbhadra Singh.

Meanwhile,outgoing Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal of BJP called a meeting of his cabinet members and adopted a proposal to dissolve the 11th state assembly. The Chief Minister has sent his resignation along with the recommendation to dissolve the assembly to the state Governor.

In Gujarat, Narendra Modi will take oath of the Chief Minster ship on 26th December at the Sardar Patel Stadium in the heart of Ahmedabad city. Mr. Modi will take oath of the Chief Minster for fourth consecutive time after BJP’s win in the state assembly elections yesterday.

Quoting Party sources, our Ahmedabad correspondent reports that BJP’s top National leaders including Senior leader L.K.Advani, leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj, Party’s Rajya Sabha leader Arun Jaitly, all Chief Ministers of BJP ruled state and several chief Ministers of NDA partners are also likely to remain present in the oath taking ceremony.

BJP has retain the power in Gujarat by winning 115 seats in 182 member state Assembly, which is 2 seat less in comparison to the 2007 assembly poll. This is the third consecutive time that BJP has won state Assembly Elections under the leadership of Chief Minister Narendra Modi.

Meanwhile, newly elected Congress MLA from Morva Hadaf constituency in Panchmahal district has passed away this morning. She had suffered brain hemorrhage stroke yesterday after winning the elections and since then she was in coma. Due to her death, Congress tally of winning assembly seats reduce to 60.
