Congress MPs from Assam today held a silent protest in Parliament premises over different issues relating to the state. The Parliamentarians led by state Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi displayed posters in support of their demands. Talking to reporters, Mr. Gogoi alleged that the NDA government has withdrawn the special category status to Assam and this will adversely affect the state's development. He also demanded the Centre to revive the North East Industrial and Investment Promotion policy. The Chief Minister accused the centre of not providing adequate funds to deal with the recent floods and land erosion.
