Cong criticizes BJP for continuously disrupting Parliament

Congress criticized BJP for continuously disrupting Parliament over the Gujarat Lokayukta issue which is already in the Court. Briefing reporters in New Delhi on Tuesday, party spokesman Abhishek Manu Singhvi termed the attitude of BJP leaders as thoroughly irresponsible.

He accused BJP of double speak and hypocrisy on the issue of corruption. Mr Singhvi said that on one hand, BJP has links with the Reddy brothers accused of corruption in mining business and on the other hand, it does not favour an independent anti- corruption ombudsman in Gujarat.

Replying to a question on the arrest of former Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh in the cash for votes scam, Mr Singhvi said that the case is being closely monitored by the Apex Court and law will take its own course. Mr Singhvi also reiterated the Government’s commitment of effectively dealing with corruption.
