Cong. came down heavily on J’khand govt for stalling anti Naxal operations

The Congress party today came down heavily on newly formed Jharkhand government for stalling the anti Naxal operations in the state. Talking to reporters in New Delhi today, Congress spokesman Mr Manish Tewari said that the move will convert Jharkhand into a safe haven for the Naxals from neighboring states.

Mr Tewari called it a major roadblock for the anti-Naxal operations specially when the Prime Minister has called Naxalism the single largest threat to internal security. The party also accused the BJP and JDU for supporting the move by Jharkhand Mukti Morcha. The spokesman added that BJP has diluted its stand against terrorism by supporting the step as a member of JMM led coalition government.

Replying to a question, Mr Tewari said any step regarding President rule can only be taken by the governor in consultation with the Center and the decision will be taken at an appropriate time.
