Cong.+allies emerge single largest group in fractured Jharkhand poll results

The Jharkhand poll verdict has thrown up a hung assembly yet again. No single party or alliance is in a position to muster majority in the 81 member assembly. With a fractured mandate, the Jharkahand Mukti Morcha, JMM, again emerges as a key player in government formation. It has improved its tally by one seat, bagging 18 seats. The Congress and its ally Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik) has emerged as the largest group winning 25 seats . The Congress has substantially improved its position in the state winning 14 seats. <br/> <br/>Reacting to the Assembly election results, Congress Party spokesman Manish Tiwari said that the party is very satisfied with its performance but refused to elaborate on the issue except indicating that all options are open . <br/> <br/>AIR correspondent quoting BJP party sources reports that the saffron party is open to post poll tie ups in the state and will open its card only after the number game is clear.<br/> The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha says, any group wanting its support should back Shibu Soren for the chief ministership of the state.<br/> <br/>Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Babulal Marandi exuded confidence that the Congress-JVM (Prajatantra) alliance will form the next government in the state.<br/><br/> <br/>
