Cong ahead in M'Pur,SP in UP,SAD-BJP in Punjab;Cong BJP neck & neck in U Khand

Congress has taken a lead in Manipur in the assembly elections. Samajwadi Party is ahead in Uttar Pradesh and neck and neck fight between Congress and BJP in Uttrakhand. SAD- BJP alliance is leading in Punjab.

Of the five results of 117 member Punjab assembly declared so far, Congress has won three and leading in 43 constituencies. Shiromani Akali Dal has won in two seats and leading in 54. BJP is leading in 12 and others in three. Nand Lal of SAD defeated Shiv Ram Singh of the BSP by a margin of 14,857 votes from Balachaur constituency. Hardial Singh of Congress beat BJP's Raj Khurana by a margin of 31,510 votes from Rajpura.

Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal is leading from Lambi Constituency while Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal is leading from Jalalabad. Congress leaders Capt. Amrinder Singh is leading from Patiala and Rajinder Kaur Bhattal from Lehra Gaga constituency. People's Party of Punjab President Manpreet Badal is trailing from both the constituencies he is contesting.

In Manipur, 14 results have been declared so far, and Congress has bagged nine and leading in eleven other constituencies. AITC has won in two seats and leading in four and NPF, MSCP and LJP have won one seat in each. CPI, NPF, MSCP are leading in two seats each and MPP and NPP in one each. Others are leading in four constituencies.

In Goa, nine results of the 40 member assembly has been declared so far. BJP has won five seats, Congress two, GVP one and Independent one.

The first result in Uttarakhand has gone in favour of BJP. According to PTI, BJP candidate Kiran Chand Mandal defeated Narayan Pal of BSP in Sitarganj seat.

BJP has won one seat and leading in 26, Congress is leading in 30, UKD one and others five.
