Congress agrees to 16 out of the 18 pre- conditions set by Aam Aadmi Party, AAP for formation of government in Delhi.
Talking to reporters in New Delhi, party General Secretary Shakeel Ahmed said Congress and party will support formation of new government in Delhi.
On the issue of Lokpal, Ahmed said, there is already a strong Lokayukta in the city and the Parliament is also in the process of passing the Lokpal Bill.
He, however, said if after government formation, AAP wants to amend the Lokayukta Act, Congress will support it.
BJP has said AAP should form government as Congress has offered unconditional supports and accepted its demands.
Party spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain said that his party has no majority in Delhi assembly and does not believe in horse trading.
Meanwhile, Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung has submitted a report to the Centre over the current political situation in the national capital.
Talking to reporters in New Delhi on Monday, Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde said that LG has given a few options and the government is examining the report legally. He, however, did not disclose the contents of the report.
As the current political stalemate persists, Delhi is heading towards the President rule. The tenure of current assembly is expiring on Tuesday and no party is coming forward to form government in the city.
