Cong accuses govt of provoking opposition led to disruptions in Parl

Congress today accused the government of provoking the opposition resulting in disruptions in both the Houses of Parliament. Talking to reporters outside Parliament, Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad said, his party always wanted smooth functioning of Parliament. <br/><br/>He said, his party has already given notices over the imposition of President's Rule in Uttarakhand and drought situation in several parts of the country. He said Congress wants discussion on these important matters. Mr. Azad alleged that the Centre has stifled the democracy in Uttarakhand by removing Congress government there.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, government has said it is ready for discussion on Uttarakhand issue but the matter is sub judice and it cannot be discussed. However, it said, it is up to the chair to take a decision. Talking to reporters outside Parliament, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said, the Congress will have to face embarrassment if it is taken for discussion. <br/><br/>He said, the Congress had imposed President's Rule 88 times in different states during its rule. Mr. Naqvi asserted that the government has followed the Constitutional responsibility by imposing Central rule in the Hill State.
