A two-day conference on using eco-friendly technologies in power plants began in New Delhi today. The conference organised by National Thermal Power Corporation will discuss various prospectus of modern technologies to be used in power generation industry. On this occasion the Union Power Minister Shushil Kumar Shinde said that government is focusing on low cost energy generation and use of modern technologies in electricity production. In a written message to the conference, Mr. Shinde said that non conventional means for energy production should be promoted. He said that both economic viability and environmental sustainability, should be the priority areas for energy producers.
