Conference on U.S.-Turkey Relations postponed

Turkey has announced to postpone the Conference on U.S.-Turkey Relations in response to the U.S. passage of a "genocide" resolution. <br/><br/>Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey said the 29th Annual conference, initially planned to be held in Washington on April 11-14, was postponed due to the approval of an Armenian resolution at the Foreign Relations Committee of U.S. Congress and subsequent developments. <br/><br/>On March 4, the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Relations approved a resolution in support of the Armenian allegations regarding the incidents of 1915. Turkey is facing hard times in its foreign policy about Armenian issue. In the United States and Sweden, two resolutions have called the killings in 1915 "genocide." Upon such development, Turkey temporarily recalled its ambassador in Washington Namik Tan to Ankara.<br/>
