Conference of Presiding Officers and Secretaries of Legislative Bodies begins in Bhopal

The 74th conference of presiding officers and secretaries of legislative assemblies of the country began in Bhopal on Tuesday. AIR Bhopal correspondent says that 5 day conference is expected to discuss working process of legislative bodies and other procedurals matters. <br/><br/>The conference began on Tuesday with the secretaries meet. The Madhya Pradesh state assembly secretary A K Pyasi welcomed the participants.<br/><br/>Addressing the meet Secretary General of the Lok Sabha P D T Achari expressed hope that the conference would be fruitful in improving the working of legislative bodies and secretariats.<br/><br/>Secretary General of Rajya Sabha Dr. V K Agnihotri said that the Rajya Sabha committee on Provision of Computer Equipment has agreed in principle to give the legislators of the house a facility of submitting their notices of questions online.<br/><br/>The conference of presiding officers of legislative bodies will virtually start on Wednesday.<br/><br/>Lok Sabha Speaker Meera Kumar will inaugurate the conference that is expected to discuss procedural aspects of conducting business of the House. A symposium on urgency in addressing the needs of environment and conservation of wildlife will be held on 5th February.
