The condition of national-level volleyball player Arunima Sinha alias Sonu is stable. The player's leg had to be amputated by the doctors after being pushed out of a speeding train. The doctors at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, AIIMS, New Delhi, where she is undergoing treatment, said this today. AIIMS Trauma Centre Chief Dr M C Mishra said, she had a good sleep on Monday night. Dr. Mishra said she had to be given blood and plasma as her haemoglobin level had fallen drastically. Now she is all right. Dr. Mishra said, he and his team of doctors are planning to open up the leg wound under anaesthesia to decide the next course of action. She was admitted to the AIIMS Trauma Centre on Monday night after it was detected that her amputated left leg had been infected. The Union Sports Ministry shifted her to AIIMS for better treatment. The Sports Minister Mr. Ajay Maken on Monday met the player at the Chattrapati Shahuji Maharaj Medical Hospital in Lucknow and shifted her after her family's consent was obtained. The Ministry will bear the expenses for her treatment.
