Condition of Joyti Basu extremely critical

The condition of veteran Marxist Leader and former West Bengal Chief Minister Mr. Joyti Basu turned extremely critical on Saturday with deteriorated functioning of all his vital organs. AIR Correspondent reports that Mr. Basu’s condition has grown from bad to worse, in the last two days.<br/><br/>The personal physician of Mr. Basu and a member of the Medical Board Dr. Ajit Maiti told that all five vital organs – heart, lungs, kidney, brain and liver are not functioning properly. According to the latest medical bulletin, Mr. Basu has been put under maximum ventilation support and is undergoing slow low efficiency daily dialysis. The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh who visited the city prayed for speedy recovery of the ailing leader, just as films matinee idol Amitav Bachhan did, in his short visit at the AMRI Hospital to see the ailing leader.
