Finance Minister Mr. Pranab Mukherjee has said that concerns on price front and fiscal consolidation are some of the important challenges to be tackled to ensure sustainable economic development.Speaking at the annual meeting of PHD Chamber of Commerce in New Delhi on Friday, Mr. Mukherjee asserted that another area of concern is the likely impact of economic meltdown in some European countries. He informed that economic growth rate for the current fiscal is likely to be around 8.75 per cent.The Finance Minister asserted that he is not unduly worried over the inflow of FII's. Mr. Mukherjee added that RBI measures to ease liquidity of the Banks will make loans easily available and this will help in achieving higher rates of economic growth.Referring to the government's initiative for inclusive development, he gave the details of the programmes launched for purpose and urged the Industry to focus on Rural India where one third of population lives.He added employment generation and all round development have to be priority areas to stop migration of rural population in Urban Centres.Mr. Mukherjee noted that the government has already launched a skill development initiative and added that it is the turn of the private sector to involve itself fully to create a skilled pool of manpower. This he said is important for addressing the development concerns of the rural population.
