A comprehensive security plan at an estimated cost of 370 crore rupees is in place for Commonwealth Games. This has been formulated by Delhi police in coordination with the central security agencies. In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today, the Minister of State for Home Affairs, Mr. Mullapally Ramachandran said that the plan will ensure the security of players, officials, technical staff, media persons and spectators. He informed the house that there is no specific threat input for the games. However, in view of general threat by militant outfits to strike at high profile events, the elaborate security plan has been framed. He said the Cabinet has approved the integrated security system for Games.
