Union Health Minister JP Nadda has said a comprehensive screening for leprosy will be conducted in 120 districts across the country from next month. <br/><br/>Addressing a national awareness convention on leprosy organized by the Ramakrishna Mission in Chennai, he said the screening will cover 20 states. <br/><br/>The previous screeing held in March and April in 50 other districts has led to detection of leprosy symptoms in over 50,000 people and it has helped them to get early treatment, he said. <br/><br/>Mr Nadda promised that leprosy affected people will be enabled to get all socio-political and economic assistance and legal rights by the Union Government. <br/><br/>The BJP MP Tarun Vijay lamented that leprosy patients are often denied educational opportunities and chances to contest in elections.
