Compliance to disaster risk reduction plan is essential for infrastructure projects to make country disaster risk resilient: Rajnath Singh

Home Minister Rajnath Singh said, country has robust institutional mechanisms in place to deal with natural calamities and compliance to disaster management codes is crucial. He was speaking on the occasion of second meeting of the National platform for Disaster risk reduction today in New Delhi.<br/><br/>Mr. Singh lauded the role played by National Disaster Management Authority, NDMA. He said, there is a paradigm shift in approach in dealing with the disasters and technological developments will be fully utilized to mitigate the associated risk. He added that the infrastructure and developmental projects should be taken up as per disaster management guidelines for better preparedness. <br/><br/>The meeting is being attended by officials of state and central governments and representatives of civil society across the countries. <br/><br/>
