Completion of Hogennekkal Drinking Water Project before schedule

Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Mr M K Stalin on Monday told the Assembly that the Hogennekkal Drinking Water Project would be completed even before scheduled date of 2012. In his reply to debate on the motion of thanks to the Governor’s address, he said that the project has been divided into five stages and the work on the project will begin in March this year.<br/><br/>He said since the present Government took charge in 2006, over 3 lakh 44 thousand persons have been given employment in various government departments. He criticized the opportunities for hurling false accusations on the State government.<br/><br/>Earlier Ms Jayalalithaa the leader of the Opposition criticized the State Government for not taking any action on price rise, increase in unemployment and alleged that law and order has deteriorated.<br/><br/>The House has passed 13 Bills including the Uniform education Bill. Later the House was adjourned sine die.
