Railway minister Dinesh Trivedi today said the cause of the incident of fire in Howrah Dehradun Express is being investigated from all possible angles, including miscreant activity. He said an inquiry will be conducted by the Commissioner of Railway Safety.

Making a suo moto statement in the Lok Sabha, Mr Trivedi said seven passengers have lost their lives. The minister said an ex-gratia of five lakh rupees to the next of the kin of the deceased has been announced and 25,000 rupees will be given to each passenger of the two affected coaches.
