Indian companies raised a record Rs 4.92 lakh crore in the last fiscal through private placement of corporate bonds. This represents an increase of 6 percent over the preceding year.A report by Prime Database said these funds were raised mainly for expansion of business plans and to support working capital requirements.The financial services sector continued to dominate, collectively raising Rs 3.18 lakh crore, or 64 per cent of the total amount.
