Over 28 lakh community leaders from Telangana and its neighboring states are being trained through online programmes to practice social behaviours that are needed to control the transmission of Corona virus cases in villages. The Hyderabad-based National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR) informed that the programme is being conducted through digital app in collaboration with the UNICEF. The National Institute and the UNICEF are working closely with the Governments of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka in preparedness and response to contain the pandemic.<br />'' <br />'' AIR Correspondent reports, the NIRDPR, in Hyderabad has initiated the online training programme for  building capacities of Panchayati Raj Institutions, Self-help Groups, officials of National Service Scheme (NSS), volunteers and Community Radio Stations especially on their role, in preventing the spread of Corona virus in village communities. According to the NIRDPR, leaders of Panchayat Raj Institutions and village organizations can play a vital role in dealing with the crisis by disseminating reliable information. The Communication Resource Unit of the NIRDPR and UNICEF, Hyderabad Field Office developed the materials in the form of handouts, posters, FAQs and Audio-visual documents and shared with all trainees for circulation in their rural communities. The material talked about facts relating to COVID-19, Common Symptoms, modes of transmission and key behaviours among others. It is being held through a digital app for enabling video conference calls with District Master Trainers from rural development and Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty, NSS officials, Health functionaries and Community Radio Stations from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka states. <br />''  <br />
