Communication from CEC to the President should remain confidential: Chawla

The Chief Election Commissioner Mr.Navin Chawla has said any communication from the CEC to the President should remain confidential.<br/><br/>Mr. Chawla's assertion comes against the backdrop of an RTI activist S C Agrawal seeking a copy of the letter from the President's Secretariat which refused to disclose the matter, prompting him to reach the Central Information Commission (CIC) with his plea.<br/><br/>The CIC in its November 9 order had directed the President's Secretariat to seek the consent of Mr. Chawla before disclosing it to Mr. Agrawal.
