Union Minority Welfare Minister Muktar Abbas Naqvi today said communal incidents have come down by 80-90 per cent in the country during the last three years. He said, the government aimed at zero tolerance of communal incidents during the years to come.<br/><br/>Addressing a press conference in Hyderabad, the Minister said, the government is carrying forward the development agenda with commitment and confidence. Stating that the three year tenure remained scam-free, he said, the NDA government has passed the half-yearly exams with distinction.<br/><br/>Elaborating on various welfare programmes that the government implemented, Mr Naqvi said, 1.82 crore students have been given scholarships to a tune of 4740 crore rupees during the period. He also said, 100 districts have been selected where intense skill development programmes will be implemented. <br/><br/>Responding to a question, the minister said cow slaughter issue should be seen from reform point of view, but not from religious point of view. He further said, restrictions on cow slaughter are aimed at protecting health and environment of the country.
