Communal Harmony Campaign: Child victims of violence from different States arrive in Delhi

A group of child victims of violence from different States arrived in New Delhi today as part of the Communal Harmony Campaign week. During their six-day visit to the National Capital, these children pin-up 'Communal Harmony Flags' on the person of the dignitaries such as the President, Vice-President, Prime Minister, Lok Sabha Speaker, Home Minister and Home Secretary to mark the Flag Day, to be observed on Friday. <br/><br/>They are also taken on a tour to historic sites and landmarks such as the Raj Ghat, Jama Masjid, Lal Qila, Qutub Minar, Lotus Temple, Rashtrapati Bhawan and India Gate. The invited children hailing from Assam, Gujarat and Jammu and Kashmir are students of Class 9th to BCA and B. Tech. <br/><br/><br/>The National foundation of communal harmony observes the 'Quami Ekta Week' every year from 19th to 25th November and the last working day of this week is observed as the Flag Day. AIR correspondent reports the observation of the 'Quami Ekta Week' will help highlight the inherent strength and resilience of the nation to withstand actual and potential threats to secular fabric and nurture a spirit of communal harmony.
