Committee on Security in Parliament to meet to examine security-related matters

The meeting of Committee on Security in Parliament headed by Karia Munda has been called today to examine all security-related matters.

It will look into preventing the bringing in of dangerous and life-threatening materials into the the House by MPs in the aftermath of the pepper spray incident in the House on last Thursday.

An official announcement had earlier said, the pros and cons about the various security measures to be adopted would be considered in detail by the Committee.

Meanwhile, Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar has referred the pepper spray incident to the Committee of Privileges for examination.

The 15 member Committee headed by MP P C Chako will examine every question involving breach of privilege or contempt of the House and make suitable recommendations.
