Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has said that the Committee of Ministers has begun its work on collecting data about the social, educational and economic backwardness for Special Backward Classes in the state. Talking to news persons in Jaipur last evening, he said his government wants to complete the process of giving reservation to SBCs soon. Mr Gehlot also expressed hope that the agitation will come to an end soon. Mr. Gehlot appealed Gujjar leaders to begin talks with the committee comprising three senior officials. AIR correspondent reports that the talks between the committee and Gujjar leaders may begin today. It is learnt that Gujjar leader Col. Kirodi Singh Bainsla has agreed to send a delegation to Bayana to hold talks with the Secretary level committee. Earlier, the Chief Minister reviewed the situation with the senior officers. Decision to send an ADG level police officer to keep a watch on the situation was taken in the meeting. The decision to reshuffle police and administrative officials in the agitation affected districts was also taken in the meeting. AIR correspondent Prem Bharti reports from Jaipur that the Gujjar stir has paralyzed rail and road traffic in Rajasthan. More than hundred trains on Jaipur-Delhi, Delhi-Mumbai, Jaipur-Mumbai, Jaipur-Agra, Jaipur-Ratlam and Jaipur-Udaipur sections have been cancelled or diverted as Gujjar agitators continue their dharna on railway tracks at Pilupura, Manota, Kolikehra and Niwai. Bus services at many places in eastern Rajasthan including Jaipur-Agra national highway also remain suspended. The gujjar agitation which started in Bharatpur six days back has now spread in Dausa, Karauli, Alwar, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Nagaur, Pali, Udaipur, Boondi, Ajmer, Jhunjhunu and some other districts.
