HRD Minister Kapil Sibal on Monday clarified that any decision to fix a higher minimum marks in Class 12 exams for IIT entrance will be taken by a Committee of IIT Directors. Sibal made it clear that it was not for his ministry to take a decision on fixing a higher cut-off for IIT aspirants. The Minister made these remarks while reacting to reports that he has mooted a minimum of 80 to 85 per cent marks in Class 12 as eligibility criteria to appear for IIT entrance exams.
