Commission of inquiry into DDCA row legal and within jurisdiction: Delhi Govt

Delhi government has said that Commission of inquiry set up to probe the alleged irregularities in DDCA is perfectly legal and within the jurisdiction. The City government's clarification came in the wake of media reports that Delhi LG has written to Union Home Ministry that Delhi government has no power to set up Commission of inquiry. <br/><br/>It said setting up any inquiry to probe allegations of corruption or irregularities in a subject like sports, which squarely falls within the domain of the Delhi Government, does not require any consent of the LG. Therefore, LG or Central Government do not have powers to scuttle Commission of inquiry.
