Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah today said, the state government will close down all the Check posts set up by Commercial tax Department in the State after introduction of GST from July one. Replying to a question by Umesh Katti (BJP) in the Legislative Assembly during Question Hour, he said there were 20 Commercial tax check posts in the state and all of them had been automated to ensure transparency. Mr Katti said, hundreds of truck loads of coal, sugar and other material is brought to Karnataka and due to absence of way bridges the truck operators were being harassed. The Chief Minister said that the government had ensured that most of the check posts were connected with IT facility.
