Commercial production of Aishwarya oil field at Barmer in Rajasthan has begun. About 25 thousand barrel crude oil and 50 thousand lakh cubic feet natural gas is expected to be released per day from these oil fields. The oil field was dedicated to the nation today by Petroleum Minister Veerappa Moily and Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot. They inaugurated commercial production of natural gas from Rageshwari well of this area.Moily said that extracting of oil in Barmer will reduce countries import bill for petroleum which is 6.5 lakh crore rupees now. He said that India will be self sufficient in oil production by 2030. He said that government is planning to create a national gas grid for better distribution of natural gas. Proposals of allotment of 31 oil blocks will also be cleared soon, he said. Addressing the function Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that Rajasthan has vast potential for investment in mineral resources.He said that decision for setting up an oil refinery in Barmer will also provide opportunities for this desert region.Gehlot said that state government will provide 37000 Crore rupees for refinery to HPCL.
